Wowowee has officially ended its show yesterday. Everyone who loves to watch the show will truly miss it. Today they will have the new show on which they named as Pilipinas Win na Win hosted by the queen of all media Kris Aquino, Robin Padilla, Pokwang (Marietta Subong), Mariel Rodriguez and Valerie Conception which will be aired after Showtime.



OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON NEW NOONTIME SHOW

On Saturday (July 31), ABS-CBN is launching a new noontime show called Pilipinas, Win na Win!. The new show will be hosted by Robin Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, Pokwang, and Kris Aquino. It is a game and variety show that will surely bring joy, energy and hope to Filipinos all over the world.
Pilipinas, Win na Win! will replace Wowowee. Willie Revillame, through his manager, was already informed about this new development. He was also notified about the new program being planned for him and this will be announced in due time.
Pilipinas, Win na Win! will be managed by director Johnny Manahan, creative director Bobot Mortiz, business unit head Jay Montelibano, and executive producers Phoebe Anievas and Rancy Recato. It will be aired after Showtime.

American, 4 Filipinos Massacred in Pampanga

American, wife, 3 others massacred in Pampanga - An American national and four members of his household were shot dead in what police suspected to be a robbery case in Angeles City in Pampanga Thursday noon.The victims are identified as Albert Mitchell, a retired US Air Force personnel, his Filipina wife Jeanette Androneda, househelpers Isabel Fajardo and Marissa Prado, and a certain Boy Vergara of Dau in Mabalacat town in Pampanga.
A manhunt was being conducted for a lone assailant who fled after a suspicious security guard accosted him at the subdivision gate.Police recovered on the scene a white sack-like container with Mitchell's belongings, such as a wallet, computer accessories and a DVD player.It appears that the victims knew the lone suspect as there were no signs of forced entry.

Trains Crash in East India - 61 people Died :
CALCUTTA, INDIA – A speeding express train plowed into a stationary passenger train in eastern India on Monday, killing 61 people in a crash so powerful it sent the roof of one car flying onto an overpass.
The crash happened about 2 a.m. when the Uttarbanga Express slammed into the Vananchal Express as it left the platform at Sainthia station, about 125 miles (200 kilometers) north of Calcutta.
The accident destroyed two passenger cars and a luggage car, turning them into a tangle of twisted metal. The passenger cars were reserved for those on the cheapest tickets and such carriages are usually packed to capacity.
The force of the crash was so intense the roof of one car flew into the air and landed on an overpass above the tracks. Local residents climbing through the debris searching for survivors were later joined by rescue workers using heavy equipment to cut through the metal.
Accidents are common on India's sprawling rail network, one of the world's largest, with most blamed on poor maintenance.

Miss Mississippi 2010 - The former Miss Metro Jackson was chosen Saturday night in front of a crowd of 2,200 in an almost packed Vicksburg Convention Center after a week of preliminary competitions.
She will receive a $10,000 scholarship from the Miss Mississippi Corp. and will represent the state in the Miss America pageant in Las Vegas in January.

Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar (UFC Heavyweight Champion)

Brock Lesnar is heading back to action in October as the UFC heavyweight champion and top ranked fighter in the division will defend his belt against top contender Cain Velasquez at UFC 121, which is rumored to take place at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, CA.

The fight between Lensar and Velasquez was rumored to go down on the UFC 119 card in September, but Lesnar's wife had a baby on the way, and the champion wanted to take some time to be with his family following his last fight.

Now it appears the West Coast will get the impact of the heavyweight title fight, as Lesnar and Velasquez are on a collision course on October 23 in Anaheim.

Usher in Manila - Concert

American R&B superstar Usher arrived in Manila on Thursday.
The Grammy Award-winning artist arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Thursday afternoon aboard a Malaysian Airlines flight, ahead of his concert at the Mall of Asia Friday.
Usher is behind popular hits like 'Nice and Slow,' 'Confessions,' and 'You Make Me Wanna.'
Although he was tired from the trip, the singer gamely faced the media, and the throng of fans who met him at the airport.He and his 25-member entourage, including dancers, were met by concert organizers and promoters.

It was said that Usher is not too far in follow the footsteps of the King of Pop Michael Jackson towards success.

Involuntary Manslaughter - Oscar Grant Verdict

Involuntary Manslaughter - Oscar Grant : An attorney for the family of the man shot to death by a former Oakland transit officer says they are "extremely disappointed" with the verdict against the officer.
Attorney John Burris said outside a Los Angeles court Thursday that the verdict "is not a true representation of what happened" to Oscar Grant.
The panel convicted Johannes Mehserle of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Grant on an Oakland train platform on New Year's Day 2009.
Burris said Mehserle should have been convicted of murder. He said it was like Mehserle "ran a light instead of killing someone."
Involuntary manslaughter carries a sentence of two to four years.

Mehserle pleaded not guilty to the charges he was facing and stated that during the incident he was trying to pull out his taser gun, not his gun.  In the end he killed Grant in the early hours of January 1 2009. Grant, who was unarmed, died the next day at a local hospital.
The crime was filmed via cell phones, as you can see in the video below, which brought the murder even closer to Oakland residents who were disgusted by the actions of the BART officer. Many are in dismay of the verdict of Oscar Grant's Case.
