Facebook Pink Face Virus - A Hoax

Users of social networking site Facebook were cautioned against falling for a hoax claiming a virus is behind a pink tinge on the profile pics of some Facebook friends.

Sophos said the hoax claims a Facebook app that turns a profile picture pink carries "keylogger malware" that can spy on keypresses and steal passwords.

"The warning is balderdash ... The app is not malicious and we have seen no evidence that it contains a keylogger. The truth is that your Facebook friends are doing something positive - helping raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer," it saidin a blog post.

It said the hoax claims a news outfit had just reported a Facebook app that adds a pink tinge to a profile picture to raise money for cancer is a virus.

Sophos said Australian bank CUA raises funds every October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

For this year, it decided to share an app that would change users' profile pictures pink to show that they were supporting the campaign.

"Remember to always get your computer security advice from a computer security company.
Friends may be well-intentioned in passing on warnings, but it's always good to check your facts before forwarding them any further.

Lindsay Lohan Will Pose Nude In Playboy For 1million | Lohan Nude Playboy Photos

Lindsay Lohan, the L.A. County Morgue's little slice of Hollywood, is posing nude for Playboy, TMZ reports, and according to the outlet, Lohan managed to negotiate a higher pay-day than first offered -- which is commendable and/or surprising considering her usual policy of giving away the nip-slips, etc. for free. According to TMZ's sources, Lohan will receive close to $1 million US for the shoot. The sometime-actress reportedly turned down the mag's initial $750,000 offer, says the site.

E! News is less certain of Lohan's Playboy Bunny status, though they do report that she is scheduled for a "top-secret photo shoot today and tomorrow." (TMZ's source says Lohan already started the shoot over the weekend.) So until Lohan's Lindsay is being displayed in all its airbrushed glory in the pages of Playboy, maybe she's just getting together with a few friends and Terry Richardson to update her Twitter avatar. When asked by both TMZ and E! News whether Lohan had signed a deal with Playboy, her rep, Steve Honig, told the outlets he could neither confirm nor deny. So, either way, we're happy to assume she's enjoying the attention.

World Awaits for Saudi King To Announce New Heir

RIYADH - The world's eyes are on Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah on Wednesday to make the widely expected choice of veteran Interior Minister Prince Nayef as his new heir, a decision that would emphasise stability in the top oil exporter.

The funeral of Crown Prince Sultan on Tuesday set the stage for the high-profile appointment in Saudi Arabia, a major U.S. ally with an ageing leadership trying to reconcile conservative traditions with the needs of a modern economy and a young, increasingly outward-looking population.

"In the political system this is an important event, but the system is designed to ensure continuity," said Jarmo Kotilaine, chief economist at National Commercial Bank in Jeddah.

Prince Nayef, born in 1933, is sometimes described by Saudi liberals as an anti-reform conservative who is likely to take a cautious approach to social and political change, while viewing foreign policy through the lens of national security.

However, former diplomats to Riyadh and some analysts say the man who has served as interior minister since 1975 may show a more pragmatic side as crown prince -- and eventually as king.

In his six-year-old reign, the octogenarian King Abdullah has pushed changes aimed at creating jobs by liberalising markets and loosening the grip of religious hardliners over education and social policy.

The Sunni Arab country holds a vital position on the world stage as it dominates oil markets, holds profound influence over Muslims through its guardianship of Islam's holiest sites in Mecca and Medina, and faces turbulence in its neighbours and a regional rival in Shi'ite Muslim Iran .

The funeral for Sultan, who died of colon cancer in New York on Saturday, took place in Riyadh's sprawling Imam Turki bin Abdullah mosque.

The Royal Court said it would be open to accept condolences for three days. A U.S. delegation headed by Vice President Joe Biden is expected in Riyadh on Thursday.

Lindsey Lohan Got Her Probation Revoked

Lindsey Lohan managed to get her probation revoked and had to pay a $100,000 bail to make it out of prison. She could return, though, if her probation violation hearing ends up not in her favor. She is facing charges that could have her in jail for up to 18 months.

During the preliminary hearing, Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner found enough evidence to revoke the probation Lohan had since the actress was recently excluded from the Downtown Women’s Center program for skipping her appointments. Furthermore, the 360 mandatory community service hours and the 120 hours at the morgue Lindsey was supposed to serve during her probation period are almost intact. After being removed from the center, the actress wanted to continue her hours at the Red Cross. She got till April next year to fulfill her requirements.

Lindsay posted on her Twitter account: “I just want it to be known, that just because I was not followed & photographed during the times I've gone to community service, does NOT mean that I wasn't following my obligations to the court”
