Hurricane Ida happens to be the ninth tropical storm and third hurricane of the Atlantic hurricane season, 2009. There have been drastic changes noticed in the status of Ida since it developed on November 4, 2009 afternoon. The next day it strengthened rapidly and rampaged on the area of Tasbapauni in Nicaragua, leaving as many as 2000 or even more homeless as they were forced to evacuate the place.

Warning is in effect for the population of the Southeastern Mississippi and Southwestern Alabama for the winds associated with Hurricane Ida, whereas watch for flooding extends to the Gulf Coast near Florida Panhandle. As for the projected path of Hurricane Ida, it is expected to land somewhere in the Florida Panhandle at midnight Nov. 10. Meteorologists observing the weather pattern and the path of the Hurricane Ida, reported on Sunday night that hurricane was moving to the north-northwest direction at a speed of 12~14 mph and the wind intensity associated with the storm was calculated at 100~105 mph.
