General Eduardo Oban Jr - New AFP Chief : President Benigno Aquino III named Lieutenant General Eduardo Oban Jr. as the new chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
The President made the announcement during the graduation rites of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Laon Alab Class 2011 in Baguio City, Sunday.
Oban, who belongs to PMA Class 1979, holds the third highest post in the AFP.
Oban finished a degree at the University of Sto. Tomas before entering the PMA.
He also holds a master's in business economics from the University of Asia and the Pacific.
He was one of the top graduates of his PMA class.
President Aquino will lead the turnover ceremony on Monday in Camp Aguinaldo.
