Matt Cassel Injury - Matt Cassel Leg Injury

Kansas City's new $28 million quarterback Matt Cassel injured his left leg Saturday night against Seattle, but X-rays came back negative, allowing fans and fantasy owners to relax a bit.

Cassel left the field without assistance, but was noticeably limping. His status for the preseason finale is uncertain, and we can probably expect a secretive approach from the Chiefs about Cassel's Week 1 availability. Kansas City's new GM, Scott Pioli, hails from the Bill Belichick tree.

Cassel, who is rated No. 18 in Sporting News' QB rankings, threw for 3,693 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season as Tom Brady's replacement in New England.
