Gilas Pilipinas beat Korea in FIBA ASIA 2013
The Philippines finally slew the host of Korea past, beating their arch nemesis, 86-79, to barge into the finals of the 27th FIBA Asia Championship and book a ticket to the World Cup of Basketball in Madrid, Spain next year.
Gilas squandered a nine-point lead entering the fourth period as the Koreans dropped an 18-4 run to grab the lead at 74-73 with 4:18 to go on a breakaway dunk by Kim Joo-Song. But the Filipinos kept their composure, with Jimmy Alapag hitting two big triples and Ranidel De Ocampo adding one more, to finally nail that elusive win over the Koreans.
