Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao Fight Not Possible

Bob Arum, Top Rank Promotions Chief Executive Officer, will not negotiate with Golden Boy Promotions of Floyd Mayweather Jr. for a potential fight with pound-for-pound boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, according to a report from ESPN's Dan Rafael.

Rafael was informed by Mayweather's adviser, Leonard Ellerbe and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, that Arum "is not interested in pursuing a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao at this time but instead pursuing a fourth Pacquiao-Marquez bout."

Arum confirmed with Rafael that he is pursuing a fourth fight with Marquez, but denied that he is not interested in negotiating for a Pacquiao-Mayweather bout.

"If we want to do a rematch with Marquez, there is no reason to sit down with Mayweather. If we want to explore a Mayweather fight, we will sit down with them," Arum said.

Mayweather is coming off a knockout victory against Victor Ortiz last September 17, while Pacquiao defeated rival Juan Manuel Marquez via a controversial majority decision last Saturday in Las Vegas.
