Tennessee Election Results

In one of the most closely watched Republican primary races so far, GOP candidate Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam has won with 51 percent.
The AP called the race with 5 percent of precincts reporting.
Mr. Haslam was locked in a tight race with Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey and 3rd District U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp. Both candidates had spent heavily and recent polls numbers showed a tight race in the five-way primary.
Mr. Haslam will now face Democrat Mike McWherter, a West Tennessee businessman with a famous political last name.
Mr. Wamp had 27 percent of the vote, while Mr. Ramsey captured 21 percent–that with 9 percent reporting.
