Teresca Scanlan wins Miss America 2011 - Miss Nebraska Photos

Teresca Scanlan wins Miss America 2011 - Miss Nebraska : A 17-year-old from Nebraska is the youngest winner of the Miss America 2011 crown since 1921 after beating 52 opponents from across the United States.
Teresa Scanlan won a $US50,000 ($A50,339) scholarship and a year-long run with the crown at the competition on Saturday night at the Planet Hollywood casino and resort in Las Vegas.
Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady won $US25,000 ($A25,169) as first runner-up, while Miss Hawaii Jalee Fuselier won $US20,000 ($A20,135) for third place.
For her talent, Teresa performed "White Water Chopsticks" on the piano. She was the only contestant who didn't dance or sing, so that was refreshing (though the yodeling ventriloquist Miss Arkansas was the best).

For her question, she got asked about WikiLeaks and balancing the public's right to know versus national security. She said that national security comes before the public's right to know, which is a good Miss America answer, especially in the literally 10 seconds they were given to answer their questions.
