Angelo Reyes Commits Suicide - MANILA, Philippines— Former Armed Forces Chief and Defense Secretary Angelo Tomas Reyes on Tuesday morning committed suicide by shooting himself in front of the grave of his mother at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City.Angelo Reyes was 65.Angelo Reyes was rushed and was declared dead on arrival at a Quezon City hospital at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, after sustaining a single gunshot wound on his chest. Members of his family could not be reached for comment.I
t was not clear whether Reyes shot himself or if somebody shot him at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City where Reyes visited the tomb of his mother.
Former Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes, was embroiled in a controversy over alleged military corruption.
