- Pacquito Diaz Not Dead : There is no truth to reports that veteran character actor, Francisco “Kit” Bustillos Diaz, popularly known as Paquito Diaz, has passed away.
Social networking sites and Yahoo! Philippines search went abuzz after reports came out that Diaz already died.
But in a text message by the actor’s daughter, Joanna Diaz-Gallent to ANC’s Boyet Sison, which was later relayed to Yahoo! Southeast Asia, she said: “Not true. Where did you get that news?”
Sison also quoted Gallent as saying that questions about Diaz’s supposed death hounded their family for almost a month already.
ABS-CBN's news website earlier published a story about Diaz’s passing but later apologized for the mistake.
In a separate report by Bombo Radyo Legazpi correspondent Lorena Quising, Diaz’s family earlier confirmed that the iconic movie villain is still alive.
Diaz is confined at the Estevez Memorial Hospital in Legazpi City, Albay. Diaz is still recovering from complications brought by a stroke in 2004.
In the Bombo Radyo report posted in their website Sunday, doctors from the Estevez Memorial Hospital allegedly made a false declaration of the actor’s death.
The report also said that the hospital administration has already apologized to the Diaz family for what happened.
