naruto's a genius of spontaniety, he's at his best with his back to the wall and no options available. a great fighter doesn't need a large catalog of moves, just a mastery of a few simple ones. as a lifelong student of martial arts i've seen black belts get beat in sparring by yellow belts simply because the yellow belts were better at the basics. lots of flashy moves does not equal practical skill
