Jerry West

Jerry West was born on  May 28, 1938 in Chelyan, West Virginia.  Jerry West was a professional NBA player, who played for the L.A. Lakers of Los Angeles Lakers.  He was a "ballhandler" who could do some pretty amazing things with the ball for the era that he played in.
He played 14 years and was the 3rd player ever to reach 25,000 points at the time.  Wilt Chamberland and Oscar Robertson were the first two.  He made the All-Star team EVERY SINGLE YEAR of his 14 year career.  That is unheard of in any sport.  He played his whole career making the all star team every year.
During his time with the Lakers, they reached the NBA finals 9 times.  When he retired, he held the post season career record for scoring.  He is still regarded as one of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game.
