The Typhoon Ondoy Aftermath | Typhoon Ondoy

With Typhoon Ondoy gone, Manila and its neighboring provinces remained submerged in flood waters. Manila streets which were once busy streets now are littered with wading people trying to reach dry land or not-so-deep waters. Houses were burried in waters and mud, rooftops were filled with people trying to escape the rampaging waters, with no food for two or three days. This was Philippine's version of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. But a more devastating one, perhaps.

Manila is now a pitiful sight with people scampering for food, shelter and clothes. Filipino's hearts and unity. In so short a time filipinos who did not fell prey to ONDOY's rage showed once more their enormous generosity and courage to help thier countrymen during these trying times. Donations all of a sudden keep pouring in, rescuers brave the rampage of flood waters to rescue trapped filipinos in thier submerged homes.

This may be a tragedy, but it also one way of showing the true heart of a filipino. We are really a nation of people who are willing to risk our lives for the sake of others, a nation of people who are willing to give - when others are in need.

But will it take an ONDOY to do all THESE???
